Well we had a fabulous time at Somerford, meeting up with friends and generally having fun in the pubs around Somerford Park. Unfortunately we had a bit of a disappointing day competing. Classic Samphire (curly) managed to pull a muscle in his back and a few days before started bucking and would only do tempi changes in the canter. We reduced his preparation work to just working him soft and low to reduce any strain on his back and although he was much better on the day of the show he put a few too many changes that were not required into his test. It was a real shame as the trot work was nearly on a 70% mark but the canter work meant the mark came right down. Not all bad news though, Michelle really enjoyed getting another regional under her belt and was happy to be interviewed by H&H for all her recent wins the few weeks before reginals. It will be Curly & Michelle’s first appearance in H&H so she is very excited sand will probably be buying at least 10 copies!!!
