I have been training Leonie for about 4 years and have helped her with a number of horses. Leonie is a very ambitious and dedicated rider. She is focused and determined to be a rider with great success and a long career. She has a great support group through her parents, friends and clients. With her own facility and an ever improving group of horses she offers a lot to anyone looking to support a rider through sponsorship.

Lucy Farrer - BD approved grand prix rider and trainer

I gave Leonie dressage training spring and summer of 2005, finding her open minded and enthusiastic, she takes a professional approach to her horses training and welfare. As a rider she shows empathy and now having trained her own horse up to grand prix has the necessary experience to progress quickly with other suitable horses.

Although my stay at Daneswood was only for a month (november - december 2009) while my school was been finished, it was by far the best care, service and training i have ever experianced and I made some good friends too.

Leonie’s teaching and understanding of horse and rider is fantastic , which had results of my mare ( Broadstone After Hours) doing the best work I ever have seen and felt her do in the 2 years I have owned her.

Ali's attention to detail is brilliant , i knew my mare was getting the best care and treatment possible.

Although i have moved my mare back home , I am still having Leonie as a trainer and will be making regular visits back to Daneswood for training, a good natter & nights out!!!

I joined Daneswood Dressage in September 2008. I arrived with a pony that was for sale, Tom and a younger horse, Sabrina who I brought and moved directly to Daneswood. I had seen and come across Leonie many times at various competitions and wished I could move to her yard due to her polite and friendly manner as well as being a excellent dressage trainer earlier on.

I had trouble selling Tom because he was quite a tricky pony to ride. When I went back to school in September to start my A levels I really didn’t have time to do the 2 horses so I asked Leonie to sell him for me. She did a fantastic job and couldn’t have found a better home for Tom. He is now competing successfully on the Great British Pony Training Squad for 2010. I carried on progressing with my young horse Sabrina, with lots of help and support from Leonie. I was given the opportunity during holidays to ride schoolmasters as well as young horses in order to add to my equestrian knowledge.

In the New Year Alfie, a schoolmaster based at Daneswood had a rider give up on him and so I was offered the ride for the 2009 winter regionals at advanced medium restricted-an opportunity I could not turn down. We had 6 weeks to learn everything in an advanced medium test and I enjoyed every second! Later on in the year I was given the opportunity to by half of Alfie. This meant I had the competitive ride on him and ride him when and as suited to his school work and mine!

This summer I have competed at a level I never expected I would, let alone at the age of 17. I have competed internationally at the Marlton Stud in Ireland winning the advanced music challenge, competed for Dressage Under 21’s UK and BYRDS central, where I received my England badge. I am now hoping to compete at PSG in Alfie next year and qualify for the nationals as well as representing Britain at some Internationals. To be able to compete from elementary to PSG in 9 months is an amazing achievement! I would not have been able to do this without Leonie’s talent, hard work and support. The yard is a fantastic place to be with so many budding stars within it, I just wish I would have moved sooner.

Thank you so much!

Training is tailored to suit individual requirements and levels of competence. Leonie has the knack of being a confidence booster without being patronizing! The livery service is very professionally run with a consistent level of care if you can’t be there. There is no compromise with your horse’s daily routine and needs and the high standard is consistently maintained.

Your friendship and training has been a huge part of my life, I am very grateful for everything you did for me, I would have never got where I did without you!

We first met by chance in August 2005 & knew we would meet again! But little did we know that it would be so soon! We were unfortunate enough to be the victim an unscrupulous seller who sold us a horse with what seemed to be uncontrollable vice of box-walking. I sought Leonie's advice & she soon became determined to help as she could see that this lovely horse had much to offer if he would settle at her yard. It has taken a huge amount of dedication on her part but it was clear from the start that Harvey appreciated her approach. Since that our lives have been further upturned by the devastating diagnosis of cancer, not once but two separate types. Leonie's support during this time has been that of the truest of friends. She has kept us going through the lowest of moments. It is hard to put into words how she & her family have so unselfishly given their support to both myself and my wonderful husband. I have thankfully recovered but it was a close call. We have now bought another super horse with Leonie's help so look forward to a prosperous future in dressage with our two lovely boys! We currently travel a round trip of 84 miles to ride but it is so worth it to keep them at Daneswood Dressage! All I can say is "Thank you for being such a lovely person and for the inspiration you give to me"

I moved my horse, Clarissa to Daneswood six years ago and it was the best move I ever made. Not only is the level of care second to none but Leonie's teaching is the best I have had. She helped me take Clarissa from Novice to Medium in 12 months and is the only instructor that has spent lots of time sorting out my bad habits and improving me. Not only has Leonie helped me find a loving new home for Clarissa but she has also found me a fantastic new horse Curly. With Leonie's one to one support I hope to take Curly to advanced Medium and hopefully beyond. I cannot thank Leonie enough for everything she has done for me.

Bought Maximum Impact, a bay stallion from me in 2005. 'Just a quick note to say thank you for all your help in the purchase of Max. He is exactly as described and a absolute pleasure to own. I was a little nervous of purchasing a stallion but with your help riding him I was entirely confident. So much so that I would have no hesitation in coming directly to you to find a second horse. In addition, your follow up service is excellent in that you never make me feel I am a nuisance when I call. I wish all horse purchases were as painless and accurate!!'

My daughter Hannah started training with Leonie last year when only 12. Leonie helped us find a super first horse 'Charlie' and Hannah has improved rapidly through Leonie's combination of firmness and encouragement.

Bought Irish Melody in September 06. 'Thanks for all your help. You made a stressful job a pleasure. Melody is already tucking into her hay and pulling faces at her new neighbours!'
