DANESWOOD DRESSAGE

Just when I think things are calming down........

I had to come to a sad decision and decided to sell Mika, my lovely 6 year old grey. He is such a beautiful talented horse and I am thrilled he has gone to an equally talented young rider Harriette Williams who has already taken him out and got 70% at her first show with him. I am delighted he is doing so well and also sad that I had to lose him but my situation made it impossible to keep him and I am still so lucky to have Jack.

This month has been spent travelling the country doing clinics and searching for a house for myself to rent so poor Jack has been a bit neglected this and been having an easy life in the field. When I came to register Jack with BD I found out he had no registered name on his passport so after much brain ache I came up with Rascalini as his sire is Rascalino. Not very imaginative but it really suits him I think!

My Dad has unfortunately recently been diagnosed as being terminally ill so I have been spending some time with him which has been really lovely but also very sad. It has been a bit of a sad month but with so much to look forward to I am stating to feel excited again.

Planning for the new yard is coming on slowly but surely which is very very exciting. I have also had to relocate Jack as I have been doing a lot of riding and teaching in Shropshire so to try and make life a little easier I will be moving to Chorley Equestrian which has the most fabulous facilities – I can’t tell you how much I miss my mirrors so I will be so happy to be able to have them back again. I recently took a super mare I have in for training to a show and managed to increase my score by 10% to 73% when I had mirrors to warm up with. You don’t realise how wonderful they are till you don’t have them!!! Chorley has all the facilities a spoilt dressage pony could want!!

Some good news!! I was pleased to have a small write up in H&H with Solcum Red Dawn, on page 44 - I have to tell you the page as its such a small mention you might miss it!!! She is a lovely mare I have in for sale at the moment, really wish I could keep her as she is so talented, I'm sure she will be PSG in no time at all!

Some more good news, my new lorry has finally arrived from Barlows - its so gorgeous I smile every time I see it, pink and black - obviosly!!!

I have had such a wonderful time at Prestwood and met some really nice people and will be very sad to leave. I will still be teaching from Prestwood so check out the Dates for your Diary  page for when I am next in the area. So all in all its been a bit of a hard month but lots to look forward to!!
