DANESWOOD DRESSAGE

Good news and bad news.......... Our time at Lincomb is coming to an end, our 2 month stay has turned into 6 due to the planning application taking WAAAAAY longer than expected! I would like to thank the lovely Becky Symonds for making us so welcome at Lincomb and letting us use all her wonderful facilities. Becky has a busy time ahead with many riding clubs and pony clubs coming to use the stables we are in which is why we have had to move out. As my new yard is not yet started we will be moving for a short time (hopefully) to Alex Benson’s yard in Tanworth in Arden where I join my friend Cath Creemer who is also based there. I am really looking forward to being based with Cath again and working with her. Cath and I first met over 10 years ago when we both worked for the Woodlander stud and we are both available for sale and schooling liveries at Alex’s wonderful yard. I HAVE THE USE OF AN INDOOR SCHOOL!!!! Woo Hoo!!! Am so excited to be lucky enough to be using Alex’s superb facilities for a short time from the beginning of February.

I will be continuing my teaching, doing clinics at Woodmere Livery, Lincomb, Bissel Wood, Kyre Equestrian, and many others so get in touch if you want to be involved or would like me to come to your yard and teach. My sponsors Sue Palmer and Lindsay Wilcox Reid will also continue to do their clinics at Alex’s yard, dates are all on the calendar on the home page.

We seem to have ironed out all of the councils concerns regarding our new yard in Boreley Lane so fingers crossed the application will be in soon and work can begin. I just want to say a huge thank you to my awesome Granddad who had the original idea about building a yard and wrote the first email to the council without me even knowing!! He is such a star and I’m sure those who have met him will join me in wishing him a speedy recovery after suffering a small stroke this week. He has been my inspiration and continued support when times have got so tough I have really wanted to just give it all up and go and work for Tescos!!!! Without him I would not have been able to do any of this so I owe him a huge amount. He also owns part of my very exciting young horse Diamondez so let’s hope this year is better than the last two and we can really start to enjoy ourselves and look forward to a new home for Daneswood Dressage.

Our next big show is the regionals at Myerscough where Alf and I will be doing the PSG and the AM music. I am really pleased with how well Alf is now performing at PSG and we have choreographed a very hard floorplan for both test so fingers cross all the risks pay off!! All I need to do now is hope I can get him white again after all the rolling he has been doing this winter, he is such a filthy boy and usually comes in with an inch of mud all over him!!! Think I will have to get the persil out again!!!!!

Mika has had some treatment for a small sarcoid on his leg so is just in light work at the moment, I am hoping after the move to start taking him to some training again and really push on with him this year. He will be 6 and has taken a long time to mature, now at over 17 hands( I only wanted a small one!!!) I hope he has stopped growing and may be able to control his huge movement. He is defiantly one not to be rushed and is massively talented so fingers crossed it will all come together this year.
